Conditions and policies that apply to Saugatuck-Douglas District Library Cards.

Who Can Get a Card

Residents of the City of Saugatuck, the City of the Village of Douglas and Saugatuck Township are eligible for for a Saugatuck-Douglas District Library (SDDL) card. This card is valid at all Lakeland Library Cooperative member libraries, according to their policies and restrictions. 

How to Get Your Card

Residents need to fill out a registration card, and bring in a photo ID (driver's license, Michigan ID) and official documentation that attaches them to property in the area (utility bills, tax bills, etc). Children under the age of 18 are required to have a parent or legal guardian co-sign their registration form. Both parent and child must be present at the time of registration.

Non-Resident/Local Use Only Cards

Visitors and temporary residents who do not own property, may purchase a card for a quarterly fee of $10. These cards are for use at the Saugatuck-Douglas District Library ONLY and do NOT entitle the cardholder to reciprocal borrowing at other Lakeland Libraries.  Proper identification and proof-of-address must be presented to purchase a non-resident card.
