The Meanderings Writer's Group

This group meets at the Library to write together. They share and critique their stories and sometimes submit for publication. They focus on the history of Saugatuck and Douglas, with emphasis on autobiographical essays, but other forms of writing are also encouraged. All are welcome.

Relaxing with Essential Oils

We all experience some form of stress in our daily life, and it's important to know how to manage it well. Come to this fun, new workshop to learn how easy it is to implement essential oils into your life for a chemical free way to less stress, better sleep and more energy. You will experience why and how essential oils can be so helpful in reducing and managing stress and explore hands-on the benefits and uses of some common essential oils for relaxation and well-being. All attendees will leave with their own rollerball remedy for relaxation. Katherine Bryers is a Certified Wellness Coach with a background in Health Education and Behavioral Health. For the past 10 years, she worked as a Health Promotion Educator leading corporate and community wellness programs that focused on implementing healthy lifestyle choices for optimal physical, emotional and mental wellness. She has a passion for wellness and enjoys working with clients to help them feel their best. She lives along the lakeshore with her family and in her spare time can often be found relaxing with a good book.

Local Author Reception

Local Author Reception with Debby Topliff and Rev G. Corwin Stoppel PhD. Listen to readings, enjoy refreshments, ask questions, and learn about the authors' work. Debby Topliff loves to follow her imagination where it leads her. She claims the seeds of her novels were planted at an early age in the corner of her bedroom among her family of dolls. She lives with her husband near Lake Michigan. G. Corwin Stoppel is the rector of All Saints' Episcopal Church and a long-time resident of Saugatuck, Michigan. He has written several books on church history and Christianity, as well as a collection of short stories.

Wreath Making with Walter the Wonderful

Each participant will get a 24" fresh mixed green wreath. Bring your own ribbon and ornaments to embellish your wreath with assistance from Walter the Wonderful. Come any time between 11am and 3pm. $15 per person. Sign up is required. Call the Library to reserve your spot. Space is limited!
