Library Badge Quest!

February 8 - May 28

Since we haven't been able to host our usual after-school clubs, Library staff have been brainstorming ways to engage with elementary-aged students that don't require gathering indoors. We think we have come up with something pretty great and we are excited to launch it this month.

We're calling it Badge Quest. The idea is similar to scouting. Kids complete activities to earn badges. Each child will be given a lanyard when they sign up. They will then fill it with badges--one badge per challenge.

We are starting with two February badges--"I Love Books!" and "Black History." Between now and the end of May, there will be a total of 12 badges, with new ones added every couple of weeks. Kids can pick and choose which badges they want to earn. Anyone who completes at least 8 badges will win a free book.

To register for Badge Quest, visit sdlibrary.beanstack.org then pick up your lanyard at the Library. Track your progress using the Beanstack app and stop back at the Library to claim badges.

We can't wait to start handing out these badges, so please register today!
