Spread the Love of Reading
Challenge for children TK-5th grade
February 1-29

The Allegan County Community Foundation and Allegan County Food Pantry Collaborative are having a peanut butter drive to help families in need. You can help by joining the Saugatuck-Douglas District Library’s Spread the Love of Reading Challenge! For every hour that you read, one jar of peanut butter will be donated. Our goal is 100 jars. That’s a lot of peanut butter for families that need it.

To help keep track of your reading time, pick up a Spread the Love bookmark at the Library. For every 10 minutes you read, Mark off one peanut for every 10 minutes that you read. When all your peanuts are filled in, bring the bookmark back to the Library and we will add one peanut to the collective pile.

This challenge is sponsored by an anonymous donor who wants children to discover both the joy of giving and the joy of reading. They will donate up to $500 ($5.00 = 1 jar = 1 hour of reading) to the Allegan County Food Pantry Collaborative in honor of the kids who participate in this challenge.
