Join local artist Ruth Crowe for a fun and fascinating inside look at her artistic inspiration and a hands-on demonstration of her methods. Ruth uses vintage photographs as the starting points of her mixed-media encaustic art. She'll be showing examples of her work, talking about her process, and demonstrating some of the techniques she uses to make photographs into one-of-a-kind art works. You'll enjoy the story of her journey (from soldier/police officer/softball coach to graphic designer/artist) and perhaps be inspired to take your own photographs to new artistic places!

This program is being offered in conjunction with Unmasked: Photographic Portraits After 2020 a locally generated cell phone portrait show, now on view at the Library. Thanks to West Shore Aware for their support.
