ABSTRACT LANDSCAPE PAINTING
with Beth Charles

Tuesday and Wednesday
November 4 and 5
6:00-8:00pm

Online registration opens Tuesday, October 7 at 10:00am. This is a 2-part workshop. Please do not register if you cannot attend both sessions.

Priority will be given to those who have not taken an art class at the Library this year. If you have taken a class recently or are registered to take Jim Johnson's watercolor class, you will be added to the waiting list. Thank you!

Abstract landscape painting is a style of art that blends landscape imagery (like trees, rivers, skies, or fields) with the language of abstraction-using shapes, colors, textures, and expressive brushwork rather than realistic depiction.

In this class participants will learn how to use transparent and opaque colors to create their own original and unique abstract landscape designs. Local artist, Beth Charles, will demonstrate how to mix and apply paint in a step-by-step process. After the demonstration, students will be free to create their own colors and applications. Artists of all levels are welcome.

This class is co-sponsored by the Saugatuck Douglas Art Club.

Beth is an experienced artist who shares her abilities through ongoing classes and workshops. She calls her teaching style “fresh, fast and loose,” as she strives to help students “loosen up” their painting style and put more of themselves into their work.
