Join us at the Library on Thursday, October 19, at 7:00pm for another installment in our Community Conversations on Death and Dying. We’ll be discussing the Ofrenda, a Mexican and Mesoamerican tradition which celebrates the lives of our lost loved ones through the construction of a decorated altar around the time of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Kat VanHammen and Marisol Gonzzales will talk about the traditional construction and the symbolism of the items that are usually included.
Please also mark your calendars for the evening of October 26, when from 6:30 - 8:00pm we’ll be constructing an Ofrenda in the Library and inviting community members to contribute to the display.
